From manual consulting firm to one AI powered subsidy SaaS platform for education

Onderwijssubsidieradar, part of Maze Subsidies, helps Dutch schools and education organisations find, apply for and win subsidies and grants. We first mapped and standardised their internal operations, then built the first AI-powered SaaS platform for education subsidies in the Netherlands. An AI agent scrapes 300+ government and funding sources, and a matching engine scores every subsidy against 100+ criteria so schools are notified first about the grants that fit them.

Finding and securing subsidies was a long, manual process. Consultants matched schools with relevant grants by hand, interpreted complex requirements and prepared every application individually. Knowledge sat with individual consultants, and processes varied from person to person. Maze needed to standardise how the whole team works, automate the repetitive parts with AI, and turn its expertise into a scalable product that schools can use directly.
